About Kate Chmunevich
about me
I work primarily on enterprise software — the kind of products with data-heavy workflows, multiple stakeholders, and competing user roles.
My favorite part of the job is discovery: sitting with a legal team watching them juggle eight tabs, or listening to a procurement manager explain why they email contracts as Word attachments instead of using the platform. My work starts there.

design process
Research & Discovery
I start by getting to know the people behind the product — users, stakeholders, and the business itself. Through interviews, audits, and data analysis, I uncover insights that shape a clear understanding of user needs and opportunities.
Ideation & Strategy
With insights in hand, I translate findings into concepts and strategies. This includes mapping user journeys, defining information architecture, and shaping a vision that aligns user goals with business objectives.
Design & Prototyping
Ideas take form through wireframes, visual design, and interactive prototypes. I explore multiple directions, test early, and refine quickly — ensuring every detail supports a seamless and meaningful user experience.
Validation & Iteration
Design doesn't stop at delivery. I collaborate closely with teams to test, gather feedback, and continuously iterate based on real-world use.
